hi tom is it worth wile to purchase a tens machine to help build up the dogs muscles on his back as he had a bad dose of acidosis Hi Bill, While I’m a great believer in the use of TENS to strengthen weak or damaged muscles, I’m afraid it’s not going to be a great deal of value in this situation. Acidosis as such has a damaging effect on all of the muscle tissue all over the body, it’s just that it’s more visible at the lumbar muscle area and is going to need a couple of months away from hard physical stress, with lots of gentle exercise such as limited free running, lots of walking, and a diet high in a broad range of protein preferably from fresh meat, full cream milk powder, and eggs.
