Hi tom can you give me some advice on the use of potassium chloride powder( sodium free) tom if I give beef 6-8 oz will I need add it to the feed if yes how much & how often to give & how close to a race do you still use it. Cheers

Cheers Hi Mark & Donnie, Unless the diet is completely deficient in potassium and other electrolytes I see very little need to add additional potassium on a daily basis, and in some circumstances excessive potassium can be detrimental. If you do wish to add potassium to the diet a small level teaspoon full mixed in the food the night before racing or running behind the lure may have some benefits in maintaining efficient muscle function. There have been several posts about potassium, and using the “search” facility at the top of the page will find you additional information on this subject. Cheers, Tom
