Hi tom regarding the feed of brown bread & total of meat for 31 kilo dog 1lb fat content of beef is 18% is this about right .75%beef /25%chicken with veg & a multivitamin & minerals will i still need to add like calci d at the right amount because of the beef & will I need to add cod liver oil and if yes how much. Tom will i need to give potassium 1/2 flat teaspoon (chloride free ) how often & for pre race tom is there anything you good advice me owt else to give cheers geoff

Hi genius just wondered what your thoughts on using Australian formula greyhound ( kibble ) Tom if I was to use it it straight from the bag nothing else would I need to add any supplements like calci d & if I gave 2oz with Australian. Formula would I need to add calcium & vitamin d cheers mark

Formula would I need to add calcium & vitamin d cheers mark While I personally do not have a lot of time for complete meal dry packaged food as I feel sorry for the dogs stuck eating this stuff without ever having the experience of eating raw meat and a whole range of other dog delights, such as a flavoursome stew. In addition all dogs are different and as such have different energy requirements depending on workload and individual idiosyncrasies, and I used to like experimenting with the individual diets to try and get that little extra performance out of each greyhound in work. However as the expert manufacturers of this scientific diet have stated it is a complete food to which nothing needs to be added to maintain the health of a racing greyhound, so no, going by that, there is no need to add calcium, vitamins, or anything else to this complete meal dry dog food.
