hi tom we have a dog that is really fast going into the 1st bend but then he seems to put a few short strides in going around the bend , he corrects himself and runs on quite strong ..i noticed after his last trial he had quite a lot of soreness in his right hip and lower quarter below the knee also at the back of the knee

Hi Brit,
There is no doubt in my mind that the greyhound has some painful injuries that are affecting his ability to drive comfortably into and around the turn. Unfortunately the causes can be many and varied and impossible to guess at and certainly require a careful physical examination by a Vet experienced with racing greyhounds to isolate the exact cause or causes.
Continuing racing a greyhound displaying these symptoms is only going to cause it to breakdown with possibly severe enough injuries that could negatively affect future racing ability.
