hi tom would colostrum be ideal to given to give to greyhounds if yes how would you use it and do you give everyday & do you add to a powdered milk . Donnie.

Hi Donnie,
While colostrum is of infinite value to newborn infants, human and animal alike, most of the components that are of major benefit to the newly born, such as the immunity factors and antibodies, are mostly broken down in the adult digestive system and therefore not absorbed intact to the extent as it occurs in newborns.
However colostrum is of such high nutritional value that the addition of a heaped teaspoon of colostrum to the main meal can certainly assist in recovery after a hard run, assist in maintaining lean muscle mass, and in most instances is a worthwhile addition to any diet.
If colostrum is added to the diet there is certainly no need to add other forms of milk powder.
