Hey tom, Got a recent check up today and the vet found that my dogs left pectoral muscle is teared off the bone, he said 3 weeks off. Been giving the dog PRP injections and said to come in weekly.. ' plateles injections which is the dogs own plasma'. My question to you is is there any way to speed up recovery?

Hi JohnnyBoy,
Sorry mate there is not a lot you can do to heal such an injury any faster than your vet is already doing.
The main concern for me would be excessive scar tissue forming that could reduce muscle stretch/extension, and the only treatment that I'm aware of that may help is treatment with a therapeutic laser as laser treatment stimulates healthy cell growth rather than scar tissue.
The only other thing that you can check on at your next visit to your vet is to see if massage and stretching of the area during the three week healing process is going to be of benefit in avoiding the injury from affecting future performances.
Cheers Tom
