Hi toms,
It does take it out of you bending over a greyhound and giving them a therapeutic massage. Unfortunately it's difficult to find a substitute for the right sort of stretching hand massage, and only thing I can suggest it that you purchase a small mand held percussion massager, Homedics had one that was ideal and sold through the ShaverShop, and to be quite honest I'm not sure if it's still available.
Then if you sit yourself on something like a mechanics height adjustable roller seat it will allow you to give the dog a thorough massage without too much strain on you as it will allow you to basically scoot right around the dog while remaining seated. Also you wil find that around 10 gentle strokes with a percussion massager will be quite sufficient for a general rubdown, and 20 firmer strokes if you wish for a more therapeutic effect in those muscle areas that have over tightened or are muscle bound.
Cheers, Tom
