Hi Tom
Just a question My vet gave me a needcle for muscle injection sroughly a cm with green base,, It this long enough ?? A friend told me it is too short for musclusar injections?

Hi Jane,
It really depends on the substance being injected but I must admit that even for a water based injection I would consider a 10mm needle a bit short for a safe intramuscular use.
However if nothing else was available you could get away with it providing the needle was fully pushed home firmly to the extent that it dinted the external surface of the muscle during the injection.
A 19 to 25mm needle would be better, and if it was an oil based injection a 32 to 38mm needle would be best.
