Hi tom I have a beagle that has a puffy red eye with discharge or sleep coming out and have been treating it with salty water and tea
Is there anything else that can be done?

Hi Andrew,
Forget about the salt water and tea treatment as it does not kill bacteria, and in most instances that type of eye problem is caused by a bacterial infection.
Go to a pharmacy and buy a tube of Golden Eye Ointment, and treat the problem by placing a small amount between the lower eye lid and the eye morning and night for two to four days depending upon the response. The tubes are only tiny and if you squeeze about 6 mm out of the tube with care it can be placed in the right spot by pulling the lower eye lid away from the eye slightly. Then by sliding the upper eyelid down, and very very gently rubbing the eye twice distribute the ointment throughout the eye.
Cheer, Tom
