Hi Dave,
The Facebook link does not work for me, however the situation is that as it was a stress fracture of one of the bones in the lower back leg, therefore the first thing to find out is whether or not it has properly healed.
I know it should have by now but It's hard to be a hundred percent sure because I can't examine the dog. So from my point of view the only way to be sure is to have another X-ray done.
If you find that it hasn't healed fully it's just going to take more time, and no doubt the vet taking the X-ray would be able to advise on that.
If the bone has healed correctly then the pain after a hard run can only be from soft tissue such as ligaments and muscles connected to the area where the bone was fractured. In that situation the best treatment is to massage the area where the fracture was twice daily for three days after each of the next three runs behind the lure, taking in all of the muscles and ligaments within six or eight inches of the fracture with a warmth producing massage liniment such as iodised oil.
Cheers, Tom
