hi tom, i noticed dog has dark elements in poo(blood) and yesterday had fresh blood in poo. also noticed urine is dark/strong in colour, he had gallop previous day but dont think this would be cause-also wormed regularly-im heading to vet but would like your opinion,steve-could high protein diet do this

Hi Steve,

Firstly I’m glad you are taking the dog to the Vet as from your description this is not something you can treat easily without Veterinary assistance.

Blood in the faeces can only indicate internal bleeding and requires thorough investigation, and coupled with dark urine it is a cause for concern, and no it could not be caused by a high protein diet
