Hi Tom, I was just wondering if you may be able to help diagnose a problem on one of my pups, she has a small lump or bump about a couple centimetres in diameter. It has lost the hair that was growing on the "bump", it's located on her side half way between the last rib and back leg, about half way up the back muscle. The lump isn't causing her any discomfort, and it only a light pink in colour. Any ideas what it could be? An skin infection or something I was thinking, and how can it be treated? I would post a picture for you if the forum allowed. Any help would be great thanks

Hi Billy,
There are a number of common skin growths, and it could be anything such as a papilloma, a cyst, or a tumour, and would be difficult to diagnose accurately from a photo.
It is best if the growth could be examined by a Veterinarian as it may be something that needs surgical removal, to be drained, or just treatment with a cortisone cream.
Cheers, Tom
