Sorry Pamela but the blood profile is all over the place, and to be quite honest the greyhound has stress and dehydration problems that will require an experienced greyhound Vet to sort out. For instance the HCT is listed at 70.6 when it should be around 58/ 60. In addition a full profile will need to be done to check the health of kidneys and liver. Having a look at THIS guide will give you some idea. Cheers, Tom

Hi Pamela,
I did look at the various White Blood Cell levels and I must admit I was not too concerned about an infection because all of those levels are within or close to the preferred quantities.
The readings would also have been affected due to the dehydration currently affecting the greyhound. In other words, these would be reading a fraction higher then if the hydration state of the dog was normal.
I do have concerns about the dehydration as this indicates some problems with kidney function as the kidneys are not retaining body fluids and concentrating the urine as they should.
After the course of tablets from the Vet has been completed I would still advice to have a full analytical blood profile done to check both kidney and liver health prior to putting the greyhound back into work.
Cheers, Tom
