Hi Pedro,
To be realistic there are no proven benefits of using Vitamin C in racing greyhounds other than the known fact that Vitamin C assists in the absorption of iron in the diet.
Greyhounds along with many other mammals produce Vitamin C in the digestive system in sufficient quantities to take care of any Vitamin C requirements they may have.
In fact in some instances Vitamin C injections can be toxic, and may increase the chance of kidney damage due to increased levels of calcium lodging in the kidneys.
If any Vitamin C is to be added to the diet it should be limited to 100 mg daily.
In humans many claims have been made about mega doses of Vitamin C, including everything from curing the common cold to curing cancer, unfortunately none have been proven accurate to date in correctly controlled medical trials.
Because humans require Vitamin C in the diet to prevent scurvy, and due to the fact that modern human diets often lack quality sources of Vitamin C, there are some benefits to be found for humans to add additional Vitamin C to their diets.
Cheers, Tom

so would that mean rebound tablets are useless? Hi Reece, Rebound tablets are basically a yeast tablet, and while the manufacturers have added 100 mg of Vitamin C, they primarily provide a range of B group vitamins. As to the value of them being added to a racing greyhounds diet ....... some greyhounds tolerate them quite well, while with others the additional yeast to their diet causes digestive problems. Cheers, Tom
