Hi all, Just wondering I am rearing pups at the moment, is it fine to feed mutton with all the bones still in it? Or are you better off cutting the meat from the smaller bones and just giving them the brisket bone etc? Thanks

Hi Wazoo,
There are no real problems associated with greyhound pups chewing on and eating raw bones, as it’s a great source of natural calcium.
However you do need to be aware that eating excessive amount of bones can cause constipation, and therefore keep an eye on their droppings to ensure that they are not getting too hard and more white instead of brown and pliable.
It possibly best to remove any partially eaten bones on a daily basis, particularly as the pups get older to stop any arguments over the bits of bone that are left.
Cheers, Tom
