Hi Tom. Just noticed that you've changed your website but my log-in name etc, doesn't work. Can you re-register my user name Luddy so I can be a member again. Regards Steve Martin.

Hi Steve,
To make the site easier to look after, and because it is mainly a greyhound health and training information site, I have switched off the register and log in section completely.
That means that everyone that accesses the site is stuck with a visitor status.
I know it makes it a little more awkward for anyone wishing to view the information on here, but so far it has avoided some of the problems inherent in discussion forums where regular members eventually start sniping at each other, and I’m sure you understand just how much of a dilemma that can create for moderators on a discussion forum.
So as things stand at the moment, anyone can post on here without having to log in or becoming a member, and can use whatever name they wish. At the same time it allows me the freedom of simply deleting those posts I consider inappropriate in maintaining a clean clutter free site without Spam or arguments between members.
Cheers, Tom

Hi Tom.......Just thought I'd say hi and see how your going etc.
Been a bit tuff up here in Bundaberg land but I'm one of the lucky ones and have escape the record floods with both house & business. I did lose a couple of things at the shop with water damage leaking from the ceiling etc & a tree at home...but that's nothing compared to the poor buggers over north that have lost everything. It really is a disaster area on that side of the river & I reckon they should bulldozer it. I volunteered to help clean-up over there last weekend and seen the damage first hand....It's really that bad, 70 kilometre raging river.....roof high. One elderly gentleman I asked, when was the last time you seen something like this.....he said "Vietnam".
That bitch we talked about mid last year I decided to retire her after she had won 23 from 34. As it stands, don't like to over race potential brood-bitches and she had nothing else to proven at the time. I also had a bad vibe and didn't want to see her get injury badly as fast dog seem to find....As it turned out, her 1/2 brother I owned (who was flying too) broke his neck in a race fall 2 months later. Anyway.....Just wanted to say hi etc mate. Take care. Regards..........Steve

Hi Steve, Thanks for the update, and yes I was concerned about your situation with the unbelievable devastation in Bundy and surrounds. Great to hear you got through Ok, and it must be soul destroying for the poor buggers that have lost everything. There is no doubt in my mind that a huge rethink is required in lots of areas in Queensland as to where and how homes are built to avoid such a huge loss of property and personal possessions in the future. In the next 6 to 12 months my wife and I intent to relocate much further North, and Bundaberg was one of the places we were looking at but I think she has had a change of mind about that one now. Cheers, Tom

I wouldn't be to worried about the floods if you were thinking about relocating to Bundaberg Tom. Yes Bunbaberg flooded for the 2 time in 3 years.......and yes the MEDIA talk up these situations. Its there job too......But don't believe everything you hear or see.....as you'd know by now. I'd say Bundy flooded in about 5 to 10 % of the town and those place are YES, a disaster area. The areas that flooded you wouldn't even consider...especially if you were moving from interstate. PERSONAL.....I live on the back of the offending river "The Burnett" and IMO, Sydney would have to flood before I did. 90% of Bundaberg is safe and now you have "Floods models" to use.... to back your decision(s). I've been in Bundy for 17 years now after being a Sydney city slicker for 25 and I wouldn't move for quids. Only 3 hours to Noosa, 4hrs max to Brisbane & Airlie Beach is 6 hours in the other direction. The place is very lay-back, has all the shops & no traffic jams. I think there is probably about 30 to 40 traffic lights TOPS....& no road-rage. Peak hour lasts all of 30 minutes between 4.30 to 5pm. Don't be fooled by the floods.......If anything, it has made the place cheaper to buy. Look me up if you ever consider the move mate. Regards...............Steve.
