Hi Mick,
ITTP is short for Myo-inositol-trispyrophosphate (NormOxys)
Created in France in 2005, this substance makes the hemoglobin in blood release more of its oxygen thus enhancing physical performance in a similar manner to EPO.
I have no idea at all if it is being used in greyhound racing, but I certainly hope not as for the average trainer it is a difficult enough industry to survive in without a performance enhancer such as this rearing its ugly head.
At this point in time there is no test available that can detect the presence of ITTP in any animal, but there are several analytical laboratories that are working on achieving such a result.
Cheers, Tom
Anyone wishing to know more about this substance simply Google the name as there are lots of articles about ITTP
