hi tom i have a bitch that is dipping after a lure gallop or a trial at track in last 3 weeks she has seen two muscle men 1 st one said she seemed alright and just to rub her left shoulder and left hip with liniment and she'd be ok.second muscle man is used by lots of big trainers here i told him she was dipping after a run...he went thru her said she was tied up he manipulated her said to work away with her. that was tues and today is friday i trialed her and she was dipping again after a few hours i flexed her wrists and initially got a little yelp from both but then nothing..i put her in mag box tonight for 1/2 hour to see if that will help?she dips on her left front whether its wrist or shoulder or something else i don't know...by the way i think your site is fantastic

Hi David l, It certainly sounds to me like your bitch has damaged the ligaments in the wrist, simply because as a general rule there are very few muscle injuries, or problems requiring manipulation that make dogs limp or dip while walking. I have just posted some information about this injury in The Health of the Racing Greyhound topics HERE. It explains how to best check for injury to this area of the wrist, and what should be done if the ligaments are damaged. Cheers, Tom

took her to be examined by the vet ray cudahy if you know him. he examined her and found different degrees in the flexion of both wrists...and said it was a very old injury...he recommended wrapping her wrists while galloping and gave her a shot into joint of cartrophen and benzo something and to dermacusal after trialing or work out and weekly injections of cartophen subcut...thats about all i could do.
Thanks again Tom
