Hi Tom, I had an incident on Thursday where I trialled 2 dogs together and they had a finish on. I have had one of the dog bite the other dog causing around a 10 cent coin size hole in the middle of her head . I have placed benadine and salt water on the injury. Could you give me some advice on what I need to put on it to aid a quick recovery.
Thanks in advance

Hi Corey,
If the injury is right through the skin, and it sounds like it is, the only way to heal it quickly is to have it stitched. Unfortunately healing is going to be a slow process otherwise as the edges of the skin have to grow together.
To stop it becoming infected salt water is not much of a help, and the twice daily application of Betadine is the better option.
If having the wound stitched is not an option, once the wound starts to heal the application of a wound healing cream containing zinc and Aloe Vera gently massaged into the edges of a wound does appear to speed up the healing process.
Cheers, Tom
