Hi Con,
Mate I’m sorry but that certainly does not sound good as ultimately greyhounds are “sight hounds” and need good eyesight to perform well on the track.
What you have described would appear to be a condition known as Anterior uveitis which causes a cloudy/blue appearance in the dog’s eyes.
Basically Anterior uveitis is inflammation to the whole front section of the eye, and it is a serious condition that can cause irreversible loss of eyesight.
There are a number of causes in young pups that include, trauma, metabolic disease, parasites, fungal, viral, or bacterial infections. However if other young dogs at the same property are also affected it’s most likely caused by a viral or bacterial infection.
I wish I had a clear answer and could give you treatment options but it’s a difficult condition to treat as there can be several causes that may all require a different treatment.
You will have to be guided by your vet, and I can only hope that the antibacterial/anti inflammatory medication does the job.
Cheers, Tom
